The Face Shop Velvet Skin Primer Review

Hey ya'll, today's review will be on The Face Shop Velvet Skin Primer. This primer used to be the Number. 1 primer on Get It Beauty, beating other popular primers such as Benefit's Porefessional.

So let's see if this product is worth that number 1 spot!

The product itself is a transparent looking paste.

-Covers pores and fine lines to create smooth skin texture without unevenness
-Skin texture appears smooth and clean
-controls excessive sebum inside pores
-Prevent sheen, longer lasting makeup
-Oil free
-Non sticky
-Light weight

Before makeup dispense an adequate amount and apply evenly onto skin. Dab lightly as it fills pores and fine lines.
Note: Excessive amount may make the subsequent application of makeup (foundation) clump.

Onto using the product!

Not sure if you can see any difference but it most definitely smooth out my pores and allowed makeup to go on a smoother surface.

I personally really like this primer as I find it really help diminish the appearance of pores yet does not clog them up. It does not feel oily and uncomfortable leaving a film around my face. I only use his primer over areas while large pores, which is around my nose, chin and forehead.
For the oil control factor, I would say it does help with the control of excessive production of sebum. However, if you are someone who gets really oily, oil will still seep through by mid day.
Overall I would say it pro-longs my makeup by a few hours and does well with blurring out the pores.

Note: I realize that the texture of the product changed over time of use (not expired). It was initially a liquidy texture, however changed to become a more silicon paste like texture. Of course that would affect the way it performs, however I find both to perform just as well.

Pros
-Minimize appearance of pore
-Light weight
-Does not feel oily
-Does not clog pores
-Slightly extends wear of makeup through the day
-Gives makeup a matte finish
-Gives a bit of oil control

Cons
-Texture changes with time of use

*Great for those who need a primer to diminish the appearance of their pores.

Note: Do not over apply. This will cause the primer to ball and foundation to apply unevenly.
Patting a small amount will be enough.
