Nivea Men's Sensitive After Shave Balm Review

Hi ya'll, today's review will be on the Nivea Men Sensitive After Shave Balm.
If you know about this primer, then you most probably would have heard of NikkieTutorials.
She was the one who started this hype about this product being the best primer for your skin.
I have to admit I was also one who picked this up due to the hype around it.

As you know, Nivea is a well known skin care brand sold at an affordable price. This product we are talking about today is in fact a men's product. An after shave balm acts as a moisturizer for areas which has just been shaved. It also helps prevent in growth hair, itching or redness from the razor.

But today we are looking at this product as a pre-makeup base, a primer.

Bought from Carousell at $12, 100ml.

*Not available in Singapore Stores*

The main key to making this a great primer is due to the fact that it contains glycerin (2nd most used ingredient). Glycerin helps what you place on top of it stick better and also a great moisturizer for the skin.

So you would want to use this prior your foundation and allow it to be fully absorbed.

100ml of product is a lot.

It has a very liquidy consistency

It absorbs quickly and does not leave your face feeling sticky or shiny.

Right off the bait I will be saying this is great a primer. Not only does it helps hydrate the face slightly, it also helps the makeup layered above to blend and look a lot better. I realized that my contour, blush and highlight looked a lot smoother and natural when used above the primer.
I enjoy the very distinct scent that most Nivea products have, this one smells just like a classic Men's after shave.
I use this after my moisturizer before foundation. It absorbs quickly and it is perfect as the base for the makeup to be layered on.
On days when I am in a rush, I can just slap on this primer and skip the moisturizer.
So is this worth the hype?
I personally think yes, it is.
