CANMAKE Perfect Serum BB Cream Review

Hey ya'll! Today's review will be on the Canmake Perfect Serum BB Cream.
I got this product as a gift from my friend since I don't often purchase Japanese makeup due to the often sheerness of the product. Hence I am very excited to be reviewing this today!

Selling in Watsons at $19.90, 30ml
Shade 02

Easy to use squeezy tube

The consistency is some what like a thick paste, not liquidy at all.

And it completely covered all the little dots I drew on my hand.

-Contains 21 types of beautifying ingredients.
-Natural yet supeb coverage
-SPF 50 & PA+++
-acts as a foundation with sheer coverage
-Beauty Lotion, Beauty Serum, Face-pack, Makeup- Base, Sunscreen, Concealer, Foundation, Time Saving
-Paraben free, Alcohol free, Mineral Oil Free, Tar- based pigment free,Fragrance free

That's a darn lot of claims if you asked me. Especially aspect which involves the beautifying ingredient which acts like skin are I suppose.
Its has superb coverage but acts as a foundation with sheer coverage. How confusing.
But never the less, I'm excited to see what this bb cream can do.

Bare Face

1.5 layer of bb cream (prior setting)

Here are some close up shots.
As you can see, the bb cream does hold up to its claims of having a pretty high coverage. In fact, I would say it's coverage is actually comparable to the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation.
It has a really nice dewy finish but I could most definitely feel the bb cream sitting on my face.

Some of the darker scar marks are still peeking through, but skin tone is evened out.

Full Face Makeup
Once powdered down the foundation looks more of an semi-matte glow from within. I did not notice any creasing or clinging to dry patches upon initial application so thumbs up for a great start.

This is a check in 4 hours later after a good load of sweating and walking. The weather is crazy humid and I am constantly sweating.
As you can see, the bb cream looks almost as good as new. The coverage is still there and I have yet to become an oil slick.

A close up to show you show the bb cream has yet to separate around my nose. Thumbs up for that. The only issue I notice is that the bb cream have started to cling onto the dry patches I have on my face.
It is only noticeable up close.

Did a little check in to show you how crazy the weather was.

*Just to put it out there, this 12 hours was after a hot humid walk along the beach, went to the amusement park for some crazy rides and non stop sweating*

So here I am 12 hours later, I look so tired don't I. But lets do the final check with the bb cream.

As you can see, the coverage definitely worn down by the end of the day allowing my scars and skin discoloration to peek through.
(However that is most probably due to me wiping the sweat off my face the entire day.)

The bb cream is clinging onto my dry patches more than before, making them a lot more visible.
But I love how it sat really nicely around the area beside my nose and did not separate at all.

Here is a comparison of how it looks through the day.

I have used this bb cream for around 10 times now and am ready to give it my review.
Overall this is a great bb cream for everyday use, especially those who are looking for something natural yet provides a great coverage.
I love the semi-matte finish it gives and how it does not separate at all on my face. As this is not waterproof makeup there is no doubt that it will fade through the day if you sweat a lot and put it through rain and sun.
However for a normal everyday use, it will be perfect.
As for the beautifying ingredients part, I am not so sure if it helped to moisturize my face or make it more beautiful. It is not drying, but I would not say it is hydrating either. Regardless, it's still nice to know there are beautifying ingredients in there I guess.
Overall very satisfied with this product as I was initially expecting something sheer and sticky from a Japanese brand.

Pros
-High coverage
-Easy to blend
-Does not separate on the face
-Semi-matte finish
-Long lasting
-Has SPF & PA
-Squeezy tube
-Not drying

Cons
-Clings onto dry patches over time
-Does not control oil
-limited shade selection

Normal Skin: -Recommended-
*Looking for something with high coverage yet giving a natural everyday look? This is it right here.

Combination Skin: -Recommended-
*This is not a matte hydration so I do recommend setting down your face. However, this foundation will not break apart on your face despite the oil production. However it has the tendency to cling onto dry patches by mid day so moisture up before application.

Oily Skin -Recommended-
*This bb cream is not a matte one, however sits surprising well on oily skin, with setting of course. It does not separate or move around. However, you might want to steer clear of this foundation if you dislike the feeling on a film sitting on your face.

Dry Skin: -Recommended-
*This foundation is a more hydrating, less matte version of the Estee Lauder Double wear foundation. Hence if you want the coverage without the matte finish, this is one to go for. However take note to really hydrate our skin before use as it a might cling onto your dry patches by mid- day.

Very Dry Skin: -Recommended-
*You most likely will enjoy this foundation as long as you do not set it with any powder and also hydrate your face well prior using it.

Pigmented Skin: -Recommended-
*This most definitely has a full coverage which is very build able, yet looking flawless and natural.

Will I Repurchase
Yes.
Great for everyday use.

Makeup Forever Ultra HD Foundation Review

Hey ya'll! Today's review will be on the new reformulated Makeup Forever Ultra HD foundation!
Need a foundation for photo shoot? Well this is the foundation which is claimed to be created for those ULTRA HD cameras. Very intriguing isn't it. Well I'm here to put it to the test!

Selling in Sephora at $72, 30ml

Comes with a pump for easy dispensing of product!

-ULTRA HD advanced formula
-Look invisible on 4K camera and naked eye
-Feels like a second skin
-Medium coverage
-Blends in seamlessly
-Great for all skin tpes

The foundation is slightly runny.
I'm going to test out the coverage using that eye liner mark I made.

As it is claimed it is indeed a medium coverage foundation as the eye liner is still peeking through.
So now onto the wear test!

BARE FACE
Here is my skin with moisturizer and sunscreen. It is slightly dewy from the skincare overload.
Depending on your concerns you may want to prep your skin accordingly.

Here is the final makeup with 2 layers of foundation and set with some powder. The foundation sets to a semi-matte/ dewy finish.
I'll say the foundation looks really flawless under my soft box lighting.
However this foundation is medium coverage so it did not cover up my imperfections very well.

Here's a check in 4 hours later. As you can see the foundation looks great on camera, and in real life too. However, my face get oily faster then usual and found myself having to gently blot off with tissue through the day.

7 hours have passed and girl can I tell you I am one oil slick. I did not touch up at all through the day and my combination skin type just couldn't stay matte. However as you can see from the photo, it still looks gorgeous on camera, looking fresh and flawless. In real life the foundation did not separate around my oiliest areas and only a small portion of my face got cakey. Overall I am impressed.

Well, overall I think this foundation is pretty amazing. Oh how I wish it had better coverage and controlled my oil production better. But then again that is not what it is marketed for. Plus point was that despite getting quite oily by the end of the day, my makeup did not separate and stayed flawless on camera.

Pros
-Looks flawless on camera
-Leaves a beautiful semi-matte/ dewy finish
-Lightweight
-Blends so easily
-does not separate on face

Cons
-Medium coverage which is not build able to full
-Ger oily very quickly through the day

Normal Skin: -Recommended-
*If you dig a dewy healthy glow for your skin and want to look picture perfect all the time, this foundation will work really well for you.

Combination Skin: -Recommended-
*As this foundation runs more dewy, it will cause us to become oily faster though the day as compared to a matte foundation. But as long as you set well and do a few touch up through the day, I can bet your foundation will look just as fresh even by the end of the day.

Oily Skin: -Not Recommended-
*I feel that although it is claimed that this foundation is made for all skin types, I feel that this foundation will not be able to keep the oil at bay and frequent touch ups will be needed through the day which may result in a cake face. As much as it gives a flawless finish to the skin, you might want to reconsider if you dislike feeling like an oil slick by mid-day.

Dry Skin: -Recommended-
*Looking for a foundation to look good in pictures. Look no more, just go get this. This foundation will give you that glow you always wanted and even keep your face hydrated.

Very Dry skin: -Recommended-
*You may still need to ensure your dry patches are well moisturized before going in with this foundation. But for most parts it will not cling too much onto your dry areas and is a great foundation to try.

Pigmented Skin: -Not Recommended-
*If you require a full coverage foundation to cover darker pigmentation, I will say this foundation is not for you. Even putting on 3 layers, I could still see my scars peeking through. Unless you do not mind going in with an additional concealer, I would say just go for a higher coverage foundation instead.

Will I Repurchase
Yes
It is pretty darn amazing.

Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay In Place Foundation

Hi guys! Today's review will be one of the holy grail foundations which have been around for a long time!
Looking for something which has high coverage and last all day? This is one foundation you have to try.

Selling in Sephora at $62, 30ml

-Long wearing makeup
-15 hours staying power
-Looks flawless, natural
-Last through heat, humidity, non-stop activity
-Lightweight comfort
-Last all day without touch ups
-Medium to build able coverage
natural, semi matte finish
-oil-free
-Fragrance free

As ya'll can see, there is no pump so you have to carefully control the amount you wish to dispense.
Application can be done with a foundation brush or wet sponge.

Bare Face

1 layer of foundation, applied with a Kabuki Brush.
As you can see the foundation has covered up most of the imperfections on my face, a few darker ones still peeking through.
You can also see how the foundation is already clinging onto those drier patches around my nose.
*zoom in for clearer view*

I added one more drop of foundation to each cheek as it is where i need more coverage for my acne scaring. The foundation definitely had a matte finish despite my thick layer of moisturizer and sunblock underneath.
And it definitely looks like I am wearing makeup especially around my nose area which is especially dry.

Here I did not use any concealer except for my under eyes, and I used some loose powder to set down my T-Zone and sparingly across the rest of my face. I have to say this high coverage foundation is surprisingly comfortable to wear and does not feel heavy on the face at all.

So let's see if this foundation will stay in place!

I have been walking slightly in the humid weather and playing some pool at Billard Arena, and this is how the foundation has stood.
For most parts it looks great, however if you stand around 3 feet away from me you might notice the dry flaky areas around my nose and mouth area.
I can see the redness already peeking through around my nose and foundation disappearing around my mouth area.

11 hours have passed and I have to say despite the dry patches, redness and some of my pigmentation peeking through, I actually think that it performed pretty well.
I have only touched up once with some powder though the entire day as some shine were showing around my T-Zone.
My foundation did not look caked up or melted off.

I have been using this Foundation for about 1 year and I have to say it is the foundation I reach for when I know I have an event or I am going out for sports.
It is the most reliable and stay in place makeup I have from my current stash.
I really love this foundation and recommended it to anyone who needs coverage and have normal to combination skin type. A little bit of this foundation goes a long way so it is worth the money.

Pros
-High coverage
-Comfortable and light weight
-Stays in heat, humidity and activities
-Good for a sports day
-Flawless finish
-10 hours wear
-Does not clog pores at all

Cons
-Clings onto dry patches
-Still not strong enough for very oily skin types
-May fade through the day on oily skin
-May get cakey if over layered

Normal Skin: -Recommended-
*If you need a higher coverage and don't mind a matte finish, then you will really enjoy this foundation.

Combination Skin: -Recommend-
*This is a matte foundation so it will help control shine on your face while covering up the imperfections, setting the foundation around your oily areas is still recommended. You may need to powder down your shiny areas through the day but probably only once.

Oily Skin: -Recommended-
*I would recommend you use a mattifying primer and set your foundation well for it to last you longer. If you are very oily this foundation may break up on you so do get some sample from Sephora to try it out first.

Dry Skin: -Recommended-
* Need higher coverage but is worried that this foundation may be too dry for your skin? Well don't worry this foundation will work for you as long as you prep your skin well! Make sure you slather on your moisturizer or facial oil to give your skin a health glow and for the foundation to go on smoother.

Very Dry Skin: -Not Recommended-
*As you can see from the photos above, this foundation will cling onto very dry flaky patches despite the hydration done prior to application.

Will I Repurchase
Yes!
I am half way through my first bottle and already considering getting the 2nd one! This is my to go foundation when I need something reliable!
