Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask & Original Skin Retexturizing Mask with Rose Clay REVIEW

Hey ya'll! Today I will reviewing the 2 popular clay masks from Origins!
Origins is a brand that focuses a lot on skincare using natural ingrients as well as science. I personally have always liked the brand as a whole as I respect how they are not just selling, but making a conscious effort to keep our planet green. So the stars of today post will be their award winning Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask & Original Skin Retexturizing Mask with Rose Clay.

Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask, 100ml

This is how it looks like once applied. It looks very creamy and not like a clay mask at all.

And this is how the mask looks like after roughly10 mins. You can tell that it looks very waxy almost like a film of hardened plastic instead of clay.

Pros:
-Not drying on the skin

 Cons:
-Does not help with oil control/reduce sebum
-Difficult to wash off
-Skin does not feel clean after

I got this mask as I heard a lot of hype on it and wanted to give it a try. I personally am not the biggest fan as I feel like it does not perform like a regular clay mask. The texture of the mask feels very different compared the regular clay masks I use. Basically, it doesn't feel like clay at all. It feels like an artificial clay with the grey coloring for visuals. The texture of it is very wet and slimy, almost like wax. Upon drying down, the mask is very tight on the skin as you can probably tell from the photos above. I would say that it feels great for firming, but I wouldn't say the same for sebum control and pore clarifying. The mask dries down really quickly and the oil from my face seeks through it really quickly. The mask was really difficult to wash off as well as it had a very waxy consistency. A good yet bad part is that your face actually feels very moisturized upon washing it off. I deem that as a bad thing as this means my pores don't feel squeaky clean. Overall, I just feel that this mask does not perform up to the standard for it's price and my other clay masks could have easily done better.

Nah, I think this product is too over-rated.

Next up, let's talk about this mask. And let me give you a heads up, I LOVE IT.

Origins Original Skin Retexturizing Mask with Rose Clay, 100ml

Pros:
-Skin feels very retexturized
-Pores feels clean!
-Easy to wash off
-Smells great!

 Cons:
-None!

By far one of the BEST clay masks I have used! I love how it is a dual function mask, helping me clear the sebum and oil while retexturizing my dull flaky skin! There are tons and I mean tons, of little exfoliating beads in the masks which will help exfoliate when I'm washing the mask on. The beads were so gentle on my skin, so I was quite surprised of how clean it left my skin to be. I like to leave my mask on for about 20 minutes before washing it off. The rinsing process is much easier compared to the Charcoal mask, takes me roughly 2 mins? The first thing I notice once the mask is washed off, is how moisture my skin feels! Amazing how it helped clean and scrub, yet leaving it so moisturized. I would definitely recommend this masks to dry skin folks out there who are looking for a clay mask that will help reduce sebum but not dry them out.

FOR SURE!
